MAZEL TOV- to Michael Makovsky.  The Sunday London Times reported British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, a voracious reader, has 3 books on his desk:  one of them is Michael’s Churchill’s Promised Land.

Kids have fun with Shany Batit and Eliana Smith! The Derech Eretz Club will be held Sunday (10/21): at Young Israel Synagogue (8101 Delmar Blvd): K-3 9:30 - 10:30 AM. 4-7  10:30 - 11:30 AM  Mishnat Pinchas, the Torah MiTzion parent/child learning begins 5 min after start of Kiddush, downstairs in Young Israel.

Only two more chances (Oct, 27, Nov 3; before the clock changes) to bring your children (K-6) to the Mesibat Shabbat.  This Special Shabbat Party meets from 5 -6 PM in the Teperberg’s backyard (7925 Delmar) for the Parshat HaShavua chidon-quiz, songs, refreshments and stories.

There is still time to join the fourth annual Ulpan Ivrit - 5768 sponsored by Torah MiTzion Kollel held in Young Israel every Tuesday & Wednesday evening. Semester one through  January 9th, Semester two through  April 9th. Adult Hebrew classes are taught by Vardit Teperberg on 4 levels.  Children's Hebrew classes are taught by the Sherut Leumi girls (Shany and Eliana) from 6:15 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday.  $100 for each semester. Open House  -Michoel & Selina Rovinsky invite you to an Open House in honor of the engagement of their daughter Saara, to Moish Moskowitz of Cincinnati, on Sunday, November 4th from 2 to 4 pm, at their home, 8001 Gannon Ave.

Lost & Found.  Are you missing a raincoat, a sports jacket, a pair of shoes, an infant seat or a child's book or toy? Please check the coat rack and shelves downstairs by the office. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity on November 1st.

Women's Tehillim Group:  The women are invited to participate in the reading of the book of Tehillim on Sunday mornings in the zchut of a refuah shelaima for cholim.  We meet at Fiona Kark’s home on 926 Jeanerette from 9:15-10 am.  If you cannot participate in person, you can call at (314) 863-2829 to receive chapters of Tehillim to say at home during that time.  The new telephone number for the Tehillim hotline is (314) 995-7119. This is the number to call to add or remove a name, or to check for updates.

Save the date:  Sunday, November 4, 2007 for Ohr Atid's First Annual Trivia Night! Do you know the capital of Brazil? Where were the 1964 Olympic Games held?  If you know the answers to these questions (or if you want to know) and are in the mood for a fun evening of trivia, food, games and prizes, you won't want to miss this event. Trivia Night will be held at Clayton Commons. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the games begin at 7:00 PM.   Pull together teams/tables of 8-10 players at $18 per person (or perhaps you wish to sponsor a table for $180). Join us at Paint Me Pottery for an adults-only Motzei Shabbat event of painting, socializing and light refreshments, Saturday, December 1st, 7:30 – 9:30pm.
