This year, the Rabbi has been invited to deliver one of the lectures at this conference. CONDOLENCES

Our condolences to the family of Simon Kohn on his passing. Shiva will continue Sunday and Monday 11 am – 8 pm at the Kohn residence, 756 Country Manor Lane. May the family be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.


SHUL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE EVENT: Sunday, July 7th, 12:45 pm, at Young Israel. The speaker will be Prof. Smadar Rosensweig, who is a professor of Bible at Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University, as well as a professor of Biblical Studies at Allegra Franco Sephardic Women’s Teachers College. The topic of Prof. Rosensweig’s talk will be: “What is the Impact of Haftaras Nahamu on our Concept of Nehama (Consolation)?” The event is sponsored by the Sarah Adelman Memorial Fund. Minimum donation: $18/family.

Prior to Prof. Rosensweig's presentation, Yitzchok Adelman will be making a siyyum upon the completion of his learning of all six books of the Mishna.  The topic of his siyyum will be "The significance of the number '7' in Judaism". His presentation will begin at 11:45 a.m. The fund is seeking sponsors for both presentations, at the minimum cost of $100. Sponsors are invited to the siyyum, which will include lunch.

LOST & FOUND: All items that have been left in Shul have been moved to the downstairs coat rack. Please check to see if any of your things are there. Items will be donated on Monday morning, July 8th.


WOMEN’S DIVISION

TABLECLOTHS: The Women's Division has purchased both round and rectangular black and silver tablecloths for shul members to rent. We have purchased enough to cover all the shul's tables. These cloths go to the floor. The cost is $6 a cloth. All proceeds go to support Women's Division Activities. Any questions please call Bonnie Goldmeier or Bryna Kandel.

ST LOUIS KOLLEL YARCHEI KALLAH: Learning for men will take place at Agudas Israel, Monday, July 8th thru Thursday, July 11th, 8 am – 10:30 am and 8 pm – 9:45 pm, and learning for women will be in the Young Israel Beit Midrash, Monday July 8th thru Wednesday, July 10th, 10:30 am – Noon. For girls (teens and post-seminary), a beit midrash style learning will be held evenings at Young Israel, Monday, July 8th thru Thursday, July 11th, at 8:45 pm. JSU NEWS

JSU is only $2001 dollars away from earning the Staenberg Challenge Grant of $60,000.  ($30,000 will go to the Meira Bresler Riemer Scholarship Fund and $30,000 towards JSU programming and scholarships).  We are looking for that special person or persons who will put us over the top and get the s'char as the one who completes the mitzvah.  A special kiddush will be made in the said donor(s) honor.  To help JSU achieve this milestone, please contact Harvey Iken 314-368-9464 or Rabbi Mike 314-498-6279.
