New Places to Eat
The Vaad Hoeir is pleased to announce the opening of three new kosher restaurants, La Maison Imaginaire, a classic French restaurant; Yu So Dum, a Chinese take-out and fast-food establishment; and Shmaltz, a 24-hour pizza and falafel place. With so many choices, why eat at home?

GOOD News
The fundraising for the shul has been so successful, the board of directors has decided to cut the dues in half. Refund checks are in the mail. In a similar story, the H.F. Epstein Hebrew Academy and the Block Yeshiva High School will be reducing tuition to $25 per student per semester, since "We have so much money we don't know what to do with it," according to a Block administrator who wishes to remain anonymous.

New Shul Policies
By popular demand, the ritual committee has established new policies for davening:
- The shaliach tzibbur must wear a jacket that both fits and matches his pants.
- On days with special additions to the davening, only one 'clop' is necessary. Really.
- Talking in shul will be limited to 15 minutes per person. Unless you're in the back row—nobody else can hear you there, so don't worry about it.
- The announcements from the bimah will consist of "Read the announcements. If you can't read, ask someone to read them to you."

Kashrus Alert
Effective immediately, La Maison Imaginaire, Yu So Dum and Shmaltz are no longer under the supervision of the Vaad. You should have eaten there when you had the chance, instead of sitting in front of your computer.
