Mazal Tov to Sidney & Rita Bresler on the engagement of their granddaughter, Nomi, daughter of Dr Yisrahel & Beth Gellman, to Avi Itzkovitz of Ramot Yerushalayim.

Mazal Tov to Sean Hirschhorn upon receiving his Masters Degree from Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University this past week, and for being chosen as student representative to give the address at graduation. Mazal Tov to his parents, David and Roz, siblings, Sheera and Yonatan, and grandparents, Chaim and Freda Shiel.

Our condolences to Yale & Gail Miller, and their family, on the passing of Gail’s mother, Betty Resnick. Shiva will continue at the Miller home, 8015 Delmar until Sunday morning – Shacharit will be at 8:00 am. May G-d comfort the family amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

TEFILLAH INITIATIVE: We will be participating in the St. Louis Community Wide Tefillah Initiative this weekend, May 14th-15th. Rabbi Heshy Kleinman, author of ‘Praying With Fire’, will be speaking at Young Israel on Shabbat morning, May 15th after davening at 11:35 am. There will also be an NCSY Oneg Shabbat on Friday night at the home of Rabbi & Mrs. Menachem Kirshner, 8112 Tulane, at 9:45 pm. Please see flyer in lobby for more details. The books have arrived and are in the office and are being dedicated in memory of Erna Waltuch by the Raskas and Waltuch families.

ICE CREAM PARTY: The Annual Shavuot Ice Cream Party at the Shulman home, 8055 Amherst, will be on the first day of Yom Tov, Wednesday May 19th, 4:00-5:30 pm.

WOMEN’S DIVISION

UNSUNG HEROES: The St Louis Jewish Light is honoring the Unsung Heroes of our community on Monday, May 24th, 6-8 pm at the JCC, Staenberg Community Center.
