CONDOLENCES

Condolences to Betsy Zimbalist on the passing of her sister, Martha May, of Bartlesville, OK. Betsy will be sitting shiva at her home, 8124 Amherst through Monday morning. May she be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.


SHUL PROGRAMS

AIR MILES WANTED: We need air miles for the Shul Dinner! We have an amazing band from NY lined up, but we need to get them here! If anyone is able to donate air miles (in 25,000 mile increments - we need 100,000 total) please contact Judy immediately at the shul office. Miles should be either AA or generic

ONEG SHABBAT: For teens (grades 10-12) together with the visiting teens from Yokneam, Israel at the Possick home 7925 Delmar at 8 pm.

SHABBAT GROUPS: Now begin at 10:00 am.

PARENT/CHILD MOTZEI SHABBAT LEARNING: At Young Israel in the Beit Midrash, for grades 1-8, 6:30 pm.

MONDAY NIGHT LEARNING: Our Beit Midrash learning on Monday nights continues at 8:00 pm every week and concludes at 9:30 pm with Ma’ariv.

RABBI’S MONDAY MORNING TANACH CLASS: Will not take place this week, but will resume next week on schedule.

RABBI FRANK & ADELE HOFFMAN SHABBAT CHINUCH: Shabbat Chinuch will be next Shabbat, December 11th. We ask that each family send in a photo of your child/grandchild via email to Sara Greene at sargreene@yahoo.com. The photos will be used to decorate the social hall. Sponsorships for the kiddush are available and welcomed. We have lists from EHA, Torah Prep, and Solomon Schechter. Please let the office know if you have a child or grandchild in another school, so that he/she can be included.

TORAH UMESORAH SHABBAT CHINUCH: Next Shabbat, coinciding with our Shabbat Chinuch, is a community-wide Shabbat Chinuch from Torah Umesorah.  Young Israel is fortunate to host Rabbi Dovid Nojowitz, National Director, for a Dvar torah Shabbat morning, and Rabbi Shmuel Klein for the pre-mincha shiur and Seudah Shlishit.

ATTENTION BLOOD DONORS: Our annual Community Blood Drive will be on Sunday, January 16th. SAVE THE DATE!!!

YOUNG ISRAEL DINNER: We are pleased to announce that Dr Robert & Barbara Strashun will be our honorees for the Shul dinner, February 13, 2011.

ST LOUIS KOLLEL CHANUKAH MINI GOLF:Sunday morning, Dec 5th at The Putting Edge at the St. Louis Mills Mall. There will be unlimited glow in the dark miniature golf and glow in the dark face paint, 10am till 1pm. Cost of admission is $6 a person

BYHS CHANUKAH BOUTIQUE: Sunday, December 5th, at the girl’s school, 1146 N Warson Rd, 10 am-2 pm.
