CONDOLENCES

Our condolences to Rabbi Menachem & Tova Greenblatt on the passing of Rabbi Greenblatt’s father, Rabbi Ephraim Greenblatt in Israel. Rabbi Greenblatt will be sitting shiva at his home, 8327 Balson Ave through Thursday morning, Jan 9.May the family be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.


SHUL ANNOUNCEMENTS

WINTER PARENT/CHILD LEARNING: Our Motzei Shabbat parent/child learning for children grades K and up continues this week, January 4th, at 6:30 pm, in the Beit Midrash. Sponsorships of $36 are available.

FOND FAREWELL: We bid a fond farewell to Joan Heber who is moving to Baltimore this week. We wish her much hatzlacha and enjoyment at being close to family.

7th ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVE, SUN JAN 12th, 2014, 10:00am-4:00pm: The annual St Louis Jewish Community Blood Drive will once again be combined with the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry Drive. Walk-in donors are welcome, but appointments take priority.

Retying the Knot, Unchaining the Agunah: Join us for a community event, co-sponsored by Bais Abraham Congregation, Nusach Hari B'nai Zion, and Young Israel of St Louis, as we recommit to our spouses and commit to ending the agunah crisis in the Jewish community. Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Bais Abraham Congregation. 4:00 pm - Rabbi Yona Reiss, Keynote Address, 5:30 pm - Post-Nup signing, 6:00 pm – Celebration. All are welcome - married and unmarried. Rabbi Shulman will be introducing Rabbi Yona Reiss who is the former Director of the Beit Din of America and the current head of the Beit Din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council. $18 suggested donation. A portion of your donation will go to organizations that help free agunot. Qualifies for 1.2 Missouri-CLE credits. Childcare will be available.
